WAKE UP CALL TO THE WORLD AND THE NEED FOR MORE ZEBRAS AND LESS UNICORNS…

For especially the past decade, we have been hearing about the need and importance to “network” and about “startups” and a species known as NGOs. Having met many involved involved with any and all of the above, most are not exactly scams, but how they actually help people, appear to be negligible.
Of course, this might also be because of having met the wrong people and not enough right people and coming face to face with too much “slacktivism” and bs.

The middle management people spoken to have very little idea of what they’re doing nor who they’re working for and what the end game might be or could look like. It’s all a bit like following the bouncing ball and seeing where one lands as opposed to knowing exactly where one wants and needs to go armed with whatever they can bring to the table. More hot air is not an option.

What all these people appear to know is that they have a steady job with a title and how someone or another who is said to be extremely well connected and wealthy is running the show. But what is the show in which they are happy to be bit players in and knowing that they are in “bullshit jobs”?

Most of what has been said sounds like way too much monkey business. But in a world that’s become a grifters paradise, and with weaklings acting as if they’re tough guys, the “art of the steal” has resulted in almost serial confusion that has resulted in much anger and anxiety and burnout and a very dangerous division within the ranks that are already divided because of racism and sexism and ignorance.

The world needs to get smart- not tomorrow, but today and maybe even yesterday- because we’re not going anywhere with hashtags, too many leaders who can’t lead and who are devoid of empathy and clarity and old fashioned honesty.

Wake up, world, because unless those startups- and there’s a need for a better term-offer things worth starting up, we’re down the crapper without game changers capable of actually changing the game.
Having some emojis showing “likes” and “love”for a fleeting shot of dopamine isn’t exactly the answer to happiness and X is hardly the online meeting place of the minds for change and where one might find a focus without being everywhere, but mainly nowhere and ending up with very cute cats.
We’re deeply in need of honest to goodness positivity and a sliver of real hope and caring and a complete break from the misadventures of Mr Tangerine Man in the White House.

We seem to have become alienated from the human race- a race we’re losing every day despite the whoopee cushions and bells and whistles and a constantly changing media landscape that no one believes in anymore.
Maybe we’re over-complicating what’s staring us in the face and need more zebras to subdue the rampant unicorns?
